Steelers’ Aaron Rodgers Puts ‘Society’ on Blast Over His Private Life

The Pat McAfee Show on ESPN has allowed Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers a public platform to vent about things that are bothering him. Rodgers used that platform Tuesday to blast people in society that have a strong desire to know more about his public life.

The conversation began with McAfee making jokes about how the quarterback didn’t invite the show to his wedding. That appeared to set Rodgers off, but not at the host.

Rodgers seemingly slammed NFL media and fans for not allowing him to have more privacy.

“It’s a sick society, isn’t it? It’s a sick society. I live in the public eyes for 20 years. I had public relationships,” Rodgers stated to start the rant. “How did that work out?

“I had people leaking my home information and making up stories that we bought a house together; I had people calling paparazzi. I had people posting personal life on the internet, and now, I didn’t want any of that. Didn’t like any of that.

“Now I’m with somebody who’s private, who doesn’t want to be in the public eye, who didn’t sign up to be a celebrity, doesn’t want to be a part of it, and because I do things in private because I want my personal life to be private, now I’m somehow, I’m weird.”

Aaron Rodgers Rants About Media Covering His Personal Life

That was really only half of Rodgers attacking how much people desire to see what’s going on in his personal life. The quarterback went on a 3-minute long rant about the subject.

During the three minutes, Rodgers described that he and wife have paparazzi following them all over the place.

“What is the entitlement to information that we’re living in society these days that that’s like a norm?”

Rodgers said “they” posted information about the house he bought in Pittsburgh. Presumably, the quarterback used “they” to mean the tabloid media.

To conclude the rant, Rodgers dared people to leave him out of the public conversation.

“But the entitlement to information about my private life is so [expletive] ridiculous and embarrassing,” Rodgers added. “Like, hey, do what you’ve got to do. But try and leave me out of a conversation, sports world, for a month.

“Try and just leave me out, my personal life, my professional life, try not to talk about me … for the next six weeks, five weeks, whatever it is. Just see if you can do that.”

Rodgers Says He Will Be Out of the Public Limelight After 2025

Rodgers admitted that by choosing the career of an NFL quarterback, he elected for a public life. When his career is finished, though, Rodgers plainly stated things will be very different.

“When this is all done, I’m out,” Rodgers said during his three-minute rant. “You won’t see me.

“And I know I’ve chosen to be in the public eye for one more season. But my private life is staying private.”

During his Tuesday appearance on the show, Rodgers said he’s “pretty sure this is it” when asked about the 2025 campaign potentially being his final NFL season. So, fans will see soon how serious Rodgers is about leaving the public limelight after his career.

During his first Steelers media session at minicamp, Rodgers received a question about the ring on his finger. The quarterback answered it was a wedding ring and that he had gotten married, but declined to elaborate with any other details.
