The Pittsburgh Steelers are not done exploring options to shore up their secondary as they look to enhance their safety position.
On June 30, the Steelers made headlines by acquiring cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith from the Miami Dolphins. However, this move also resulted in the departure of safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, creating a new hole in the roster. With Fitzpatrick’s exit, the team is poised to start DeShon Elliott, who recently signed a two-year contract extension worth $12.25 million following a standout year in 2024. Yet, the starting spot alongside Elliott could be vulnerable, particularly for Juan Thornhill.
