Potential first-round pick Ole Miss defensive tackle Walter Nolen elected to skip the workout portion of the NFL Scouting Combine.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are on hand in Indianapolis for the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine and it’s no mystery they are looking heavily at defensive linemen. One of the potential targets in this draft is Ole Miss defensive tackle Walter Nolen who decided to skip combine workouts on Thursday.
It appears that Nolen could be facing some significant draft stock drop after electing to skip combine workouts. There has been chatter about character concerns dating back to high school, with one report stating that teams are now starting to remove him from their board.
This is alarming despite the fact that his talent level alone makes him worthy of first-round pick buzz. The Steelers already saw him at the Senior Bowl and it remains to be seen how this will play into their evaluation.

Nolen, a five-star recruit out of Tennessee, began his career at Texas A&M before transferring to Ole Miss for his senior year. His lone year in Oxford was easily the best of his collegiate career as he had six and a half sacks with 14 tackles for loss.
