The NFL schedule release was on Wednesday, and we now know what the regular season will look like for the Pittsburgh Steelers. It should be an interesting year for the Steelers as they will have a new quarterback, and Pittsburgh fans are excited to see what the new season brings. Here are predictions for each of their regular season contests.
Week 1 at Atlanta Falcons
This week one matchup is going to be interesting to watch because of the quarterback battles that both teams have on their hands. The Steelers have Russell Wilson and Justin Fields competing for the starting job, while the Falcons have Kirk Cousins and rookie Michael Penix Jr. going at it. Who knows what matchup we will see in week one, but the Steelers will start the year with a big win on the road. WIN.
Week 2 at Broncos
The Broncos are another team with a lot of question marks this season, specifically at the QB position. This is another matchup that has a lot of uncertainty. Will rookie Bo Nix find a way to be the starter for Denver, or will Jarrett Stidham or Zach Wilson win it? There are too many question marks for Denver right now. The Steelers will start 2-0. WIN.
Week 3 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
The Steelers will play their first home game in week three against the Chargers. It's year one of the Jim Harbaugh era in Los Angeles, and you have to expect the Chargers to be much better this season under his leadership. Harbaugh has been a winner no matter where he is, and it will be much of the same in LA. The Chargers will get a road win in Pittsburgh. LOSS.
Week 4 at Indianapolis Colts
The Steelers will be back on the road in week four to take on the Colts, and that is going to be a tricky matchup. Indianapolis was a good team last year and they are certainly trending in the right direction. They should have another good year, and going on the road and getting a win will be tough for the Steelers. The Colts will take this one. LOSS.
Week 5 vs. Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys should once again be one of the better teams in the NFL this season (at least during the regular season) and they are going to be a tough out. The Steelers do have them at home which is good, and it will be on Sunday Night Football, but this is still going to be a tough one for them to win. It will be close, but Dallas will leave with the victory. LOSS.
Week 6 at Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders should end up being a middle of the pack team in the NFL once again this season. They aren't going to be anything special, but they'll be a decent team. The Steelers will likely be on a similar level, and this will be a tricky road game, but Pittsburgh will get it done. They will be at .500 after six weeks of the regular season. WIN.
Week 7 vs. New York Jets
The Jets haven't been good for awhile, but they are hoping to keep Aaron Rodgers healthy this season, and that would go a long way for them. Last season, Rodgers was injured during the first drive of the season. They should be better if he can stay healthy, but the Steelers will be able to get a win at home against New York. WIN.
Week 8 vs. New York Giants
This should be a relatively easy game for the Steelers. Most NFL games are kept fairly close, but this is certainly one that Pittsburgh needs to win. The Giants likely aren't going to be very good this season and the Steelers are going to have them at home for Monday Night Football. There's no excuse to lose this game. WIN.
Week 9 – BYE
Week 10 at Washington Commanders
The Commanders were even worse than the Giants last season, and they probably aren't going to be very good this season either. This one is on the road which will make it a bit more difficult than the week eight matchup with the Giants, but this is another one that the Steelers have to have, and they will get it. WIN.
Week 11 vs. Baltimore Ravens
This one will definitely be one of the most difficult games on the schedule this year for the Steelers. The Ravens were a Super Bowl contender last season and they should be one again this year. Being at home will be big for Pittsburgh and it will present them with a big opportunity to get a huge win, but Baltimore is too good, and they will get the victory. LOSS.
Week 12 at Cleveland Browns
The Steelers will have another primetime matchup in week 12 as they will hit the road to take on the Browns on Thursday Night Football. This will be a big divisional game in the back half of the season, and pressure will be mounting for both teams. This one should be close, the but the home Browns are going to find a way to get it done. LOSS.
Week 13 at Cincinnati Bengals
Another divisional game for the Steelers in week 13 as they will travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals. Cincinnati is hoping to have Joe Burrow at 100% and that will obviously make a big difference for them. The Bengals should be a good team if Burrow can stay healthy, and going on the road and winning against them will be hard to do. The Steelers will lose this one. LOSS.
Week 14 vs. Cleveland Browns
For the fourth week in a row, the Steelers will take on a divisional opponent as the Browns will come to town in week 14. The past three weeks were losses, but Pittsburgh will bounce back at home to get a much-needed win against a team in their division. WIN.
Week 15 at Philadelphia Eagles
Back on the road in week 15 and it's going to be a tricky one as the Steelers will have to take on the Eagles in Philadelphia. The Eagles will be an interesting team to watch next year after their meltdown at the end of last year, but they should be a good team. They will take down the Steelers at home. LOSS.
Week 16 at Baltimore Ravens
That week 15 game is the start of a brutal three-game stretch for the Steelers, and it continues in week 16 with a road game against the Ravens. The Steelers aren't going to get it done at home, and they aren't going to get it done on the road either. LOSS.
Week 17 vs. Kansas City Chiefs
The Steelers will be at home on Christmas Day against the defending Super Bowl champs, the Chiefs. Merry Christmas, Steelers fans, you will get to watch Kansas City come to town and get a victory in Pittsburgh. LOSS.
Week 18 vs. Cincinnati Bengals
The Steelers will finish the regular season with a home game against the Bengals, and they will need to get a win after that daunting three-game stretch. Pittsburgh will finish the season strong by knocking off Cincinnati at home. WIN.
Final Record: 8-9
The Steelers always seem to finish somewhere around the .500 mark, and it wouldn't be surprising at all to see that happen again this season.
