Steelers’ Justin Fields Issue With Bears Revealed

Back in March, the Pittsburgh Steelers sent a conditional sixth-round pick to the Chicago Bears for former No. 11 overall pick quarterback Justin Fields.

That was a small price to pay for a quarterback drafted so high just three seasons ago. The Bears gave up on their quarterback ands shipped him to the Steel City.

Bears insider Bill Zimmerman of Windy City Gridiron insists that in the end, coach Matt Eberflus "didn't trust" the former Ohio State star.

"There are plenty of people around the team (media and non-media) who believe that many of Eberflus' questionable decisions were made because he didn't trust Justin Fields to do the right thing with the football," Zimmerman wrote.

"On third-and-6 from the opponent's 30, Eberflus was more comfortable running the football and settling for a field goal than risking a turnover on a pass or a bad sack that knocks them out of field-goal range."

When you are playing not to lose, more often than not, you're going to lose. Winners win, and losers lose.

This revelation honestly makes us want to see Justin Fields in an offense that trusts and believes in his abilities on the field. Sometimes, all it takes is a change of scenery to jump-start a players fledgling career. ... though of course as the Steelers get ready for the regular season, we're a bit away from that as Fields is presently serving as the backup (not counting the possible "Fields Package''?) to vet Russell Wilson.
