The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered a tough loss against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, which marks their second consecutive defeat after starting the season 3-0. Dallas was able to move the ball fairly easily on the Pittsburgh defense, and the unit will be looking to bounce back in Week 6 when they take on the Las Vegas Raiders. This will be a difficult game for the Steelers as games against the Raiders are typically close, but it is also a good opportunity to get back on track as the Raiders have a ton of drama surrounding the organization with Davante Adams requesting a trade.
The Week 6 clash between the Steelers and Raiders will be a great showing of excellent edge rushers between Pittsburgh's TJ Watt and the Raiders' Maxx Crosby. Both players are two of the top game wreckers in the league week in and week out. Each season, it seems they are two of the favorites to win the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year Award, as Watt has won it once, while Crosby is still awaiting his first victory.
Crosby spoke about the success of Watt on the latest episode of his podcast, The Rush With Maxx Crosby, specifically highlighting Watt's Week 5 performance and reaching 100 career sacks.
"When I look at my competition, when I look at somebody else where I can truly say, 'Ok, he's cut from that cloth,' somebody that truly wrecks games -- not just rushes well, plays the run well, overall f**ks up games -- I look at this dude and it's me and him going back and forth. So I got to give a shoutout to our guy, TJ Watt. Dude had eight tackles, a sack and a half, forced fumble, obviously an incredible game. Unfortunately, we're playing against him, don't want to give him too much f**king love, but love you TJ, you're my guy."
Steelers' TJ Watt Shown A Ton Of Praise For Reaching 100 Career Sacks
Watt became the second-fastest player to reach 100 career sacks in NFL history when he got to Dak Prescott during the first half of Sunday night's game against the Cowboys. The only player that has reached that milestone faster than Watt was Hall of Famer Reggie White, who did it in 10 less games. Had Watt not missed time during the 2022 season, there is chance he would have beaten the record. Crosby spoke about how special the accomplishment is for Watt.
"It was his 100th career sack. The 100-sack club is no joke, it is a rare group, a lot of legends in there. He's done it in a very short time, I think the second-quickest ever - which is phenomenal. He doesn't get talked about enough, the dude is a baller. Big shoutout to TJ, respect the h*ll out of you and I'll see you on Sunday."
