Steelers’ Week 8 Opponent Embarrassed By TJ Watt After Questionable Pre-Game Fighting Words

The Pittsburgh Steelers found their sixth win of the season on Monday night by beating the New York Giants by a score of 26-18. It wasn't the prettiest game for Pittsburgh, as the team counted on all three phases of the game to get the victory. Calvin Austin III scored a touchdown on a punt return, and the defense and offense each did their part in the victory over the Giants.

It wasn't a pretty victory for the Steelers, but they got the job done. Russell Wilson fumbled the ball with just over four minutes remaining in the game and the Giants recovered down eight points. TJ Watt responded with a sack where he stripped Daniel Jones of the football and recovered it himself. Watt did this while going up against New York's overly-confident right tackle, Jermaine Eluemunor.

"I love it," Eluemunor said. "Shoot, I've been telling y'all I'm the most confident guy in this locker room and I think you can see that through my play this year. So I love it, you know? I want to be on an island with him all day, and you know, for us having a young guy at left tackle, we need to you know, do a little bit more obviously just to make him feel comfortable -- and we will. But that means you know, I have to do more on my side."

Eluemunor wanted to keep things close, and ultimately, he failed. When everything mattered the most he allowed Watt to get right by him and strip Jones for a sack and a fumble. Watt hadn't had a sack since Pittsburgh's game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5, but he has quickly turned things around.

Pittsburgh's defense can carry them to very special places. Watt is one of the biggest game-wreckers in the NFL, and every week he proves that to be true. He has won games for Pittsburgh throughout his career, and he continued that trend in Week 8 against the Giants as the Steelers improved to 6-2 on the year.

Steelers Need To Prepare For A Gauntlet To End The Season

After the win over the Giants, the Steelers will head into their bye week with a record of 6-2. That's good for first place in the AFC North, but Pittsburgh has a tough task ahead of them.

During the last nine games of the season, they will play their six divisional games as well as the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Commanders. Pittsburgh will need to bring the fight during the second half of the season, as they have one of the most difficult schedules to finish the regular season.
