One Washington Capitals newcomer is ready to make his mark in Taylor Raddysh. Let's learn more about him. In the 2016 NHL Entry Draft the Caledon, Ontario native was selected in the second round at 58th overall. The Bolts would let him go Chicago in the middle of the 2021-22 season and it was a move they shouldn't have made looking in hindsight.

Michael DeRosa of The Hockey News in Tampa Bay wrote about the former Bolts draftee who's already working out and trying to make his way with his new hometown:

"The change of scenery benefitted the Caledon, Ontario native nicely as the move to Chicago gave him the opportunity to play more consistent minutes. In his final 21 games of the 2021-22 season with the Blackhawks, he had six goals and 10 points. That was after he had just five goals and 12 points in 53 contests with the Bolts. "

During the 2022-23 season, Raddysh took a big step forward in his development as he recorded new career highs with 20 goals and 17 assists for 37 points in 78 games. But he struggled this past season as he had five goals and nine assists along with a -19 rating in 73 games.

Raddysh keep in mind is only 26 years old and after not getting a qualifying offer in Chicago went on to sign a one year deal with the Capitals. That one year, $1 million dollar deal is an opportunity to bounce back.

The Caps are looking for goal scoring in all faucets of their game. At right wing he could easily play third or fourth line minutes in the bottom six. Some project he could be an impact on the second power play as well.

It's going to be an intriguing storyline to watch come training camp time which comes very soon just like how the NFL is back tonight. It's the most wonderful time of the year.

One storyline to watch is can Raddysh form good chemistry with a young buck such as Hendrix Lapierre who many in the Caps brass believe has graduated from prospect status to NHL status. If so, then that third Caps line can be lethal.
