Taysom Hill & Juwan Johnson as one of the best Tight End duos in the league

Although the Saints ranked at the bottom half of the NFL as an offense in 2024, they managed to sneak 2 Tight Ends inside Pro Football Focus's top 32 tight ends ahead of 2024. Taysom Hill and Juwan Johnson were selected to the list in the eyes of John Kosko. The Saints are one of the few teams with 2 Tight Ends making the list along with the Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings.

Taysom Hill ranked as the 14th best Tight End in the NFL

Taysom Hill is placed right inside of the top 15, ranking as the 14th best Tight End ahead of the 2025 season. Koso explains his reasoning for the Hill's placement on the list. "Hill is difficult to place on this list, as he’s less a tight end and more a do-everything player. And he's also coming off a torn ACL in 2024. When healthy, Hill has to be accounted for on every play: He’s a threat as a passer, a runner and a receiver. He has earned a 71.8 PFF overall grade or better in four straight seasons".

Hill is a player that has been used at every skill position on the offensive side. In 2024, Hill was used more as a tight end. Hill's season was cut short after suffering a torn ACL back in Week 13 vs the Los Angeles Rams. Hill played in only 8 games where recorded 23 catches for 187 yards. Even though he was used more as a tight end, he still managed to add 278 yards and 6 touchdowns on the ground.

Hill could've ben higher on this list if he dealt with consistent quarterback play and didn't suffer a season ending injury, but he was helped by his contributions all over the field. There's no official date when Hill will return, but he is expected to miss at least part of the 2025 regular season, which kept him from climbing a little higher on this list.

Juwan Johnson ranked as the 31st best Tight End in the NFL

Juwan Johnson is entering year 6 with the New Orleans Saints where he is considered a key a piece in the Saints offense. "Despite the Saints' bevy of injuries, including to quarterback Derek Carr, Johnson still managed 548 receiving yards and a 1.34 yards-per-route-run average in 2024. While New Orleans' quarterback situation doesn’t look any better in 2025, Johnson has shown to be a productive tight end regardless of his quarterback".

Johnson is a player who produces and has a lot of potential. Johnson finished the 2024 season with 50 receptions, 548 yards, and 5 touchdowns. The Saints are looking to get a little more consistency from him in 2025. With a new head coach and offensive scheme, this is the year we should see him have a breakout season With consistency, Johnson can expect to see himself a lot higher on this list around this time in 2026.
