Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave has shared an unfortunate update on her skin cancer journey.

On Thursday, July 25, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum confirmed she had been diagnosed with another melanoma and would undergo surgery to remove it. She shared the news in a lengthy Instagram post in which she spoke candidly about her years-long health struggles and the wave of emotions that came with it.

“Lots of DMs asking about my recent skin check,” she began. “I got the results back at the beginning of this week and have been just trying to grin and fake it since the call because I was at an important horse show with [her daughter] Slate. I do in fact have another melanoma which means another surgery.”

Teddi says she's "grateful" her melanoma was caught early

Teddi said she was preparing for “more hard conversations” with her children: Slate, Cruz, Dove, and stepdaughter, Isabella, whom she shares with her husband of 13 years, Edwin Arroyave. The former Beverly Hills ’Wife said the diagnosis has left her “feeling really sad,” but she's trying her best to remain positive.

“I know I will be ok in the end – we caught this one within 90 days and earlier stages and for that I am very grateful,” she continued. “I am grateful to the incredible physicians, nurses, my family, horses, friends, and work but am also trying to be gentle with myself and say it’s ok to have feelings and be afraid.”

Kyle Richards urged Teddi to get a skin cancer check

Teddi was first diagnosed with melanoma in early 2022 after her good friend Kyle Richards noticed suspicious spots on her back.

“In March, I was running with Kyle Richards, actually, and she was like, ‘Hey, one of your spots is, like, black. You need to go to the dermatologist and get it checked,’” Teddi recalled in a 2022 interview with Extra. “We went in, and immediately, they biopsied it, and it came back melanoma.”

Teddi remains optimistic amid her melanoma journey

Since then, Teddi has had more than a dozen cancerous growths removed from her back. She has also used her platform to advocate for skin cancer awareness and to stress the importance of getting tested.

“Tomorrow will be better and if it’s not I will keep fighting until it is,” she wrote in the July 25 post. “If you are going through something and feel sad, scared, or alone – I feel you and we will fight through these unknowns together. Sending [heart emojis] to you all and please book your skin checks.”
