Tennessee Titans are open to getting the best of both worlds at quarterback this season via 2025 NFL Draft and free agency

The conversation about the Tennessee Titans' future at quarterback has been way too narrow-minded.

Everyone has an opinion about where the Titans should go at QB. There's the elite draft prospects like Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward going at the top of the first round. There's a free agency pool of Sam Darnold, Justin Fields, and Jameis Winston. There are veterans like Matthew Stafford, Kirk Cousins, and Derek Carr that could be available in a trade.

Veteran or rookie? That seems to be the question on everyone's mind. But has anyone considered that the Titans could just do both? The "best of both worlds" is definitely still on the table. Tennessee Titans GM Mike Borgonzi confirmed that during his media availability at the NFL Combine on Tuesday.

“We could sign a quarterback in free agency and also draft a quarterback as well," Borgonzi said on Tuesday. All options remain on the table for the Titans...That includes the QB prospects outside of the first round.

While I do not believe it would be a smart path to go down, I don't think it's crazy to imagine a world where the Titans sign a veteran quarterback to be the 2025 starter and draft a late-round rookie to develop and compete with Will Levis.

Will Howard, Kyle McCord, and Tyler Shough all come to mind as quarterbacks who can thrive in well-structured passing offenses. That could be attractive as a developmental piece for Brian Callahan and Tennessee.

So yes, the Titans could sign a veteran quarterback and still make a play for the right QB in the draft. It just may not be in the first round like many fans would like it to be.
