The Houston Texans have been very busy this offseason. Whether their business will end up improving the roster or not remains to be seen.
After trading starting left tackle Laremy Tunsil away in a deal with the Washington Commanders, the Texans needed to bring in a new blindside blocker for star quarterback C.J. Stroud.
On Wednesday, they were able to do just that.
According to a report from NFL insider Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports, Houston has agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $14.5 million with Cam Robinson.
Robinson spent the 2024 NFL season split between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Minnesota Vikings.
Stroud is coming off of a down year in 2024. He played well, but not nearly up to the MVP expectations that had been set for him.
He played in 17 games, completing 63.2% of his pass attempts for 3,727 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. Stroud also picked up 233 rushing yards.
As shared by Pro Football Focus on X, Robinson has a 75.8 pass-blocking grade since 2022.
So far this offseason, Houston has made quite a few additions and changes. Among the players who the Texans have brought in are C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Robinson, Mario Edwards Jr., Laken Tomlinson, Darrell Taylor, Sheldon Rankins, and Justin Watson.
Another major change was Houston's decision to move on from offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik. He was replaced by Nick Caley.
Standing in at 6-foot-6 and 335 pounds, Robinson is a towering and intimidating physical presence who will now have an opportunity to help keep Stroud upright and healthy.
