The Houston Texans will take on the Dallas Cowboys this Monday night, and it's something of a test for Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud.

The Texans are coming off a wild "Sunday Night Football" game against the Detroit Lions, where the team blew a 16-point halftime lead to fall to Detroit, 26-23.

Speaking to the press on Thursday, Stroud sounded confident about his ability to have a stronger showing against the Cowboys.

He described himself as not only a game manager but a "game changer." Stroud also compared himself to Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry.

"For me, I try not to only make plays but try to take care of the football and do the right thing to win the game, and sometimes it goes your way, and sometimes it don't," Stroud said.

He added, "I think, I'm not just a game manager. I can be a game changer... For me, I'm going to keep the swag and, kind of like what I touched on last year, like, Steph Curry can go 0 for whatever, but he is going to keep shooting. That's me. I'm just going to keep shooting. Keep trusting myself. Keep trusting the talent God gave me."

This season, Stroud has completed 62.9% of his passes for 2,371 yards, 12 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He ranks seventh in the NFL in passing yards.

Stroud continued, "One of the biggest things, too, is that my teammates trust me. Me and [TE] Dalton [Schultz] talked the other day, and he has the utmost respect in me, and I have the utmost respect in him. I needed to hear that. The team still rides behind me, and they still want me to be at the helm and love me through the thick and then thin. So, it feels good to still have the backs of my teammates and be able to go out there on Sundays and do what I need to do to win the game."

Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans also seems to have respect for Stroud. When asked what he would like to see Stroud improve upon for the next game, Ryans said, "I'd like to see C.J. just go out and cut it loose."

"Full, complete trust in C.J.," he added. "Let him go out and rip it, cut it loose, play fast, play fun."
