With Tank Dell likely out for most of the 2025 season, if not all of it, and uncertainty around whether he will be the same player when he returns, the Houston Texans need a wide receiver out of this draft class. Luckily, the draft class at the position is deep.
While the Texans have a lot of needs as they go into a win-now year, where they are trying to get over a hump that both the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs have kept them from getting over, WR is not at the top of the list. They have a ton of needs in the trenches, specifically on the offensive line. And the defensive tackle position is a need as well.
So, the Texans don't have to spend a top pick to get a wide receiver in this draft, which is also one of the perks of having Nico Collins on your team -- one of the best in the entire league. And let's not forget that the Texans added former Jacksonville Jaguars WR Christian Kirk, along with Justin Watson and Braxton Berrios. But, they still need another guy who has the potential to be a WR2.
This week, they will be meeting with the best-kept secret in the 2025 NFL Draft at the wide receiver position.
Texans to visit with WR Kyle Williams
If you really study film, then you know exactly who Williams is. He's one of the best pure route runners in the entire draft, and we saw that on display at the Reese's Senior Bowl, as he beat several defenders 1-on-1 very badly.
He's perfect for what the Texans need. And, they'll be getting the Washington State product in the building soon.
According to Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports, the Texans are going to host a visit with him. This doesn't mean they are targeting him, and it definitely doesn't mean that they are going to draft him. But, it does show that they have a bit of interest in the player. However, these visits are more so to see how he is as a teammate, if he would be a good culture fit, and so on.
Either way, his play would make him a great fit.
