After moving into their new home in Los Angeles, The Bachelor's Kelsey Anderson and Joey Graziadei have already been forced to evacuate, all because of the horrendous wildfires in Southern California. Over the past several months, Kelsey and Joey have been trying to live their best lives while dealing with speculation about the state of their relationship.
Even after settling down in Los Angeles, the drama didn't end for The Bachelor season 28 couple, as they watched in horror as the Santa Ana winds fueled the fires across California, their new home state. Kelsey recently admitted that she was terrified.
The Bachelor's Kelsey Anderson posted some Instagram Stories to let her followers know the latest on the evacuations where she and Joey Graziadei live.
Kelsey posted some Instagram Stories to let her followers know the latest on the situation. The first showed her driving out of town with the caption, "Evacuation mode." She later shared that she's "safe" and staying at The Bachelor season 27 contestant Jess Girod's home in San Diego. Her last Instagram Story showed her setting up a blanket on a bed with the caption, "Sleepover."
Meanwhile, Joey left town for a trip to Tahoe even before Kelsey had to evacuate. He shared a selfie from the airport and mentioned that he would be in Tahoe for a few days. When he was on board the plane, he posted a photo from the tarmac, with smoke billowing in the distance. Joey then shared a sponsored post about a company that gave him a bunch of products for his "snowboarding adventure." Once he was safely in Tahoe, the Bachelor star posted a beautiful shot of the mountains and said, "Now this is what I'm talking about."
What Kelsey & Joey Being Separated During Evacuation Means For Relationship
Joey Wouldn't Have Left If Kelsey Had An Issue With It
Joey leaving Kelsey behind got very mixed reactions on social media, with some defending the move and others saying they should have stayed together during the scary ordeal. Based on the timeline of the Bachelor stars' Instagram Stories, it looks like Joey was already leaving on his trip before Kelsey had to evacuate their home. Fans don't always get to see and hear what's going on behind closed doors. Before he left, Joey and Kelsey probably had a discussion about whether he should even leave.
If Kelsey actually had a problem with Joey going on his snowboarding trip, he likely would not have gone. Also, amid the evacuation, Kelsey was probably updating Joey on everything that had been happening and making sure he knew she was safe. Fortunately, Kelsey knew someone in California who was willing to temporarily take her in until they're given the go-ahead to return home.

Joey & Kelsey Should Be Able To Live With Lives Without Criticism
It's great that Jess was willing to open up her home to Kelsey amid such a scary time in Los Angeles. Jess posted her own Instagram Story to let everyone know she's safe in San Diego, which came as a relief to her friends in other parts of the country. As for Joey's trip, though, while the optics don't look good, at the end of the day, this is a matter between him and Kelsey; if she was fine with it, then nobody should be questioning why he left her behind in Los Angeles to deal with the evacuation alone.
