The future of the Lions' offensive line is here, and who the starters will be in 2027, take a trip through time with us

The Detroit Lions went all in on the trenches in the 2025 NFL Draft. Two offenisve linemen and a defensive linemen in their first four picks. Today I want to focus on those offensive linemen and thier impact on the future. 

Right now, it would seem that Tate Ratledge is going to be a shoo-in to start at right guard this year, and Miles Frazier is likely to come off the bench as a do-all guy similar to how Evan Brown used to be. But that's a few months into the future. I want to go even farther. 

Get in the Delorean, we're gunning this baby to 88 miles per hour, and we're going to 2027...

Ok, we're here. It's 2027, and the Lions just wrapped up a Super Bowl win at Prime Stadium (formerly known as Sofi Stadium. But since Prime is what plants crave, it's been changed.) Frank Ragnow has decided to retire from football and go to work for the Discovery Channel, where he'll have his own fishing show. Taylor Decker is also gone. He'll be the new host of Hell's Kitchen after winning a bet with Gordon Ramsay. 

The Lions now need to reshuffle their offensive line. The good news is that they already got all the guys nd won't need to go out and draft them. Here's the Lions' starting offensive line in 2027: 

Left Tackle Penei Sewell

It makes sense that after Decker is gone, you move the best offensive lineman on this team over to the left side. We've seen Sewell play there during his rookie season when Decker was hurt, and he didn't have any problems at all. We're betting we won't see any problems this time either, since Sewell is even better now. 

Left Guard Christian Mahogany

This is likely to be the spot Mahogany takes over in 2025, and he's not going to let it go. Everyone was blown away by how good Mahogany was in the times he had to fill in during the 2024 season, He should continue to blow everyone away in 2025. 

Center Tate Ratledge

Here's what we know right now. Ratledge should be the Lions' starting right guard during the 2025 season. We also know that Lions GM Brad Holmes says the plan is for Hank Fraley to take a look at both Ratledge and Frazier at center and cross-train them. We're guessing Ratledge is going to take to it well, and they'll continue that cross-training until it's time for Frank to go fish. 

Right guard Miles Fraizer

This is where Frazier predominately was at LSU, and this is where he had his most success. He'll hold down that do-all role for his first two seasons, but with Ratledge moving to the middle, it'll open up the spot for Frazier. 

Right tackle Giovanni Manu

After years of development and some opportunities to get on the field in different positions in 2025 and 2026, Manu is ready to go out there and be a starting right tackle. We'll finally get to see that strength and athleticism take shape. 

So there you go. That's what the Lions' offensive line looks like in 2027. Now let's hop in the time machine and head back to 2025. Unless you want to hit Biff Tannen's casino first?
