SPOILER: This article goes into Joel's fate in The Last of Us Season 2 so please avoid if you don't want to know the outcome.

The Last of Us Season 2 has been underway in the Canadian province of British Columbia for the last two months and one of its most iconic characters, Joel, played by Pedro Pascal, has reportedly already "wrapped up" filming. Season 2 of TLOU is expected to be released in 2025 as many fans wait with bated breath about how things are really going to transpire and how much of the game the show will follow this time.

For those who have played the sequel to Naughty Dog's The Last of Us, it's fairly obvious as to why Pedro shot his scenes in record time, but that hasn't stopped fans from joking about his rather quick departure to star in Fantastic Four as Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic this summer.

The first season of HBO's The Last of Us adapted Naughty Dog's masterpiece with amazing execution, and now it remains to be seen if Season two will follow the same procedure, but so far, the incredible cast and locations have been on point to make this another remarkable time for fans of the post-apocalypse. We will have to wait another year to see the fruits of its labor and that already feels far too long.

Pedro Pascal reprized his role as Joel in season two but has been the butt of everyone's jokes due to how quick the turnaround from The Last of Us to his role in Fantastic Four has been. In only the first few hours of The Last of Us Part 2, Joel is beaten to death with a golf club by Abby in a vengeful killing due to the death of her father, Jerry Anderson, a Firefly surgeon, who was about to operate on Ellie until Joel took him out in order to save her.

Now, fans speculate about the fate of Pedro in season 2 and have been quick to mock his upcoming death. In a post on X by The Hollywood Handle which announced the news that he has already wrapped up filming on season two and is ready to take on his role in Fantastic Four this summer, fans couldn't help but be as brutal as possible.

"Damn I wonder why the shoot was so short, I hope nothing bad happens to him." said one sarcastic comment. Another exclaimed how fast his departure was and that "we know why", while another user hilariously threw in a savage image of the game cover for Everybody's Golf and added Abby's face to the main character while Joel's face was the golf ball!

"I get why his filming would be wrapped sooner than the others, but this was REALLY fast. It makes me wonder how exactly they're gonna be breaking the 2nd game down season wise," said @Dshaun54

At the very least, I'm sure Pedro will be glad that those scenes are over as if it's anything like The Last of Us Part 2, it would definitely have taken a toll on him as it did on Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker. It only remains to be seen how season 2 pans out and if we will actually see Abby in the first few episodes or if all the shit will go down much later on in the season. Roll on 2025!
