The UFL is now using Lions' kicker Jake Bates to promote the league to potential players and football fans

The NFL season is nearing its close. The regular season ends next week, the playoffs begin shortly after, and the Super Bowl is in February. Then, the wait for NFL football begins, but that doesn't mean you won't get some football.

The UFL is now using Lions' kicker Jake Bates to promote the league to potential players and football fans

The UFL starts up in March and they've already started putting out commercials that not only advise fans to watch the games but also promote the league as an option for players that aren't in the NFL. The guy they're using to sell the league is th biggest, success story to date, Detroit Lions kicker Jake Bates. who

The ad features Bates kicking his infamous 64-yard field goal at Ford Field as a member of the Michigan Panthers. Then the screen goes black and white letters read "Wonder where this guy is now." Check it out:

That moment made Bates a star. Everyone was talking about it the next day and the Lions wasted no time reaching out. Bates was one of the few players to jump from the UFL to the NFL in the summer, and he's nailed it since. He's become one of the best kickers in the league this year and has been fun to watch.

Will there be another Jake Bates out of the UFL in 2025? I guess we'll just have to see.
