Remember when Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright were on Vanderpump Rules? He asked her to move from Kentucky into his shoebox of an apartment, then denied it to his friends. That might be what some might call the first red flag. Now Brittany has filed for divorce from Jax, but the former couple still have to co-parent son Cruz and work together on The Valley. And filming together for Season 2 is getting awkward in a hurry.
Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright are trying to avoid each other during filming
According to TMZ, both Jax and Brittany were on set for filming on August 30. The former duo tried to keep their distance from each other. Well, that should make for a super fun season! Once, when Brittany was accidentally too close to Jax, a friend tugged her away.
The couple also showcased very different moods. Jax seemed down, while Brittany laughed and smiled with her female co-stars. Meanwhile, an insider told TMZ that when Jax was filming with Kristen Doute, he stated that he went to rehab because he was “going out of control.” Jax entered an in-patient mental health facility in late July.
Well, Brittany allegedly took a swipe at Jax when she reportedly served him with divorce papers while he was filming at Jax’s Studio City Bar. We don’t know if the moment was memorialized on camera. But that would be epic!
And Brittany spoke out about her decision on the former couple’s podcast When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany. “So it’s been a big week. I’m sure everyone listening has seen the news online by now that I filed for divorce from Jax. I unfortunately can’t speak on details,” Brittany said, “because everything has been heavily documented on the show since we happen to be filming right now.”
She continued, “You will see how everything plays out once the show airs but I will say this: This season has been the most difficult season I have ever had to film.” She also explained that it has taken years for her to break away from the “toxic relationship.”
As for the podcast? Jax and Brittany will be podcasting separately. I think that’s a great decision. I don’t think that fans can stand much more awkwardness.
Season 1 of The Valley is streaming on Peacock.
