The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3 - Cast, Story, Trailer & Everything We Know

AMC's popular Walking Dead franchise continues in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, and the hit spinoff has already scored a season 3 renewal. Picking up a few years after the original Walking Dead went off the air, Daryl Dixon follows the eponymous character as he travels to Europe and accidentally finds himself at the center of a power struggle that once again proves that zombies are the least of his troubles. Continuing the franchise's trend of character-driven spinoff, Daryl Dixon works so well because of the power of the character, and Norman Reedus' performance.

Season 1 of Daryl Dixon merely set the stage for what was to come in the sophomore outing, and the spinoff finally brought together the franchise's strongest duo. Subtitled The Book of CarolDaryl Dixon season 2 brought Carol Peletier across the pond as well, reuniting The Walking Dead's ultimate team once again. With various factions still clashing in France, and Daryl and Carol stuck in the middle of a conflict bigger than themselves, AMC has set the stage for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 to be the most exciting adventure since the conclusion of the flagship show.

Along with the announcement that season 3 would be sending the show to Spain, it was also confirmed that Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride would be reprising their roles. Naturally, the dynamic duo of Daryl and Carol is an absolute must for season 3 of Daryl Dixon, but the rest of the show's considerably large ensemble is less certain. With the pair leaving France behind, it's possible that they'll be the only two returning cast members for season 3, though nothing is certain yet.

The cast of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 has already grown with the addition of Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, and Alexandra Masangkay as series regulars. Nothing is known about the roles they'll be playing, but they are joined by Candela Saitta and Hugo Arbués who will appear as recurring roles as well. Appearing as part of Daryl and Carol's quick pit stop in England in season 3's first episode, Stephen Merchant has been tapped to play an as-yet-unnamed role.

With the two heading westward, it stands to reason that Daryl and Carol will be trying to head back to the United States

Though exact plot details remain elusive for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon's next adventure, the season 2 finale, in conjunction with other information about season 3, paint an interesting picture. It's already been revealed that Daryl and Carol will stop in England before they arrive in Spain, which is the main location of the season. What will happen in England remains to be seen, but a big city like London presents all sorts of potential dangers.

With the two heading westward, it stands to reason that Daryl and Carol will be trying to head back to the United States, though their route will undoubtedly be tangled by conflicts. If Daryl stumbled into a beehive of human drama in France, it's expected that he and Carol will find all sorts of trouble in Spain and England too. However, until more details are revealed, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 is a mystery.

AMC dropped a surprise teaser for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 on the same night as the season 2 finale, and it shows some stark changes are coming soon. Leaning heavily on the spaghetti Western tone that was promised, the teaser shows Daryl venturing across the desert on a motorcycle (though he eventually swaps it for a horse). Various civilizations are shown, including one that is seemingly worshiping a burning idol. The teaser closes by confirming that Daryl and Carol are still sticking together.
