The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has been renewed for season 3 ahead of its season 2 premiere. The renewal was announced during the show's panel at San Diego Comic-Con, where a new trailer for season 2, subtitled The Book of Carol, was also released. After season 1 sent Daryl (Norman Reedus) to France, season 2 will find Carol (Melissa McBride) traveling across the pond in search of her lost friend, with the trailer teasing an emotional reunion between the two.
Though season 2 has yet to premiere, it was announced that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has been renewed for season 3 during the show's SDCC panel, for which Screen Rant was in attendance. While seasons 1 and 2 of the series are set in France, season 3 will send both Daryl and Carol to Spain. Filming will also be taking place in Spain and is expected to start in the coming weeks.
Season 3 Sees Daryl And Carol Continuing Their Journey Home
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 details are naturally being kept mostly hush-hush. It has been revealed that Daryl and Carol will be heading to new and dangerous territory, revealed officially to be Spain (a secret that was previously let out of the bag by spoiler-prone Reedus). Along the way, the reunited friends encounter how the zombie apocalypse has affected the different places they visit (which likely means some interesting and creative new zombie variants).
The most intriguing reveal about Daryl Dixon season 3 is that Daryl and Carol are on a journey home to America (which could have been inferred by the fact that they will move from France into Spain). What this means for Daryl’s new friends Isabelle and Laurent is yet to be seen. It could be that both characters survive the events of Daryl Dixon season 2, and decide to stay back. One or both of them could, presumably, be traveling along with Carol and Daryl. Or, in a grim prospect, something bad could happen to them in the upcoming season.
Reedus recently teased the possibility of a Daryl Dixon season 4, also shooting in Spain
Any chance that Daryl might have thought about settling down to a new life in France appears to be a non-starter with the reveal that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 sees him and Carol trekking across Spain in hopes of getting back to America. It remains to be seen if their efforts will prove successful, leading to a possible reunion with Rick, Michonne and the rest of their friends at some future date, on some future, as-yet-unannounced TWD universe show.
