The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon stars Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride officially welcome fans to the beginning of filming on Season 3.

In an August 27 X post from the official Walking Dead AMC social media account, a video of Reedus and McBride showcases the two on set in Spain. Reedus tells fans, "We're so happy to be shooting Season 3 here in beautiful Spain," before McBride reminds him that they need to "Vamos" and head back to production.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is the fifth spinoff of the hit The Walking Dead series from AMC, itself based on Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard's breakout comic book series of the same name. Set in France, Daryl Dixon follows Reedus' titular character as he struggles to understand how he ended up washed ashore half a world away from where he started. The series also stars Clémence Poésy as Isabelle Carriere, a nun who helps Daryl along early in his journey, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi as Laurent, a young boy who is believed to be the Messiah by a group of fervent followers, Ann Charrier as Marion Genet, the leader of a paramilitary group who have made a life for themselves in post-zombie-apocalypse France.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Will Continue With Season 3

In July, it was confirmed that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon had been renewed for a third season. The confirmation was released alongside a description of the series' third season which explains that it will "track Carol (McBride) and Daryl (Reedus) as they continue their journey towards home and the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse."

Fans are currently awaiting the hotly-anticipated release of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2, which is set to introduce a whole new breed of Walkers, or zombies, to The Walking Dead's universe. Daryl Dixon creator David Zabel opened up about the subject recently, noting that Season 2 will "keep ratcheting up how we're switching up the world, specifically in terms of the different kinds of Walkers that we experienced in France... We experienced what we call 'Ampers,' these amped-up Walkers, in Season 1. That gets ratcheted up several times in Season 2. Then there's also, towards the end, a different kind of Walker that we've never seen before."
