There’s a college football player whose last name is the full name of a former Eagles quarterback

If you saw Carson Wentz at last night’s Michigan State vs. Florida Atlantic game, no you didn’t.

That was actually Jack Carson-Wentz, the team’s long snapper who somehow has the last name of the full name of the former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback.

Strange!

Here’s more on the Georgia native from MSU’s official website:

Transfer will provide depth at long snapper for the Spartans . . . rated the No. 34 long snapper in the nation in the Class of 2024 by Rubio Long Snapping.

2023 SEASON (WEST GEORGIA): Spent the 2023 spring season at West Georgia.

2022 SEASON (LENOIR-RHYNE): Did not see game action at Division II Lenoir-Rhyne in Hickory, North Carolina.

HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL DATA: Played high school football at Cherokee High School in Canton, Georgia . . . communication major.

No word on if he’s actually related to the former Eagles quarterback. Guessing not.

Also guessing he won’t end up being Rick Lovato’s eventual replacement as the Eagles’ new long snapper. But could you imagine if that was the case?

Anyway, NFL player Carson Wentz is now the top backup to Patrick Mahomes on the Kansas City Chiefs, if you somehow missed it.
