This scrappy rookie WR has been a top standout at Chiefs' training camp practices

The Kansas City Chiefs have a serious competition brewing in their receiving corps ahead of a preseason exhibition against the Arizona Cardinals on August 9.

After the Chiefs' latest practice session on Tuesday, rookie wideout Mac Dalena was among the most impressive performers during drills, where he competed alongside veterans Tyquan Thornton, Xavier Worthy, and Rashee Rice.

Dalena, a former Fresno State Bulldog who signed with Kansas City as a free agent after the 2025 NFL draft, made an impressive one-handed reception punctuated by a feisty run-after-catch at workouts on August 5, which was featured in this video that was posted to Twitter by the Chiefs' official account:

While fans should continue to consider Dalena a dark horse in the race to win a spot on Kansas City's 53-man roster, his outstanding showings in St. Joseph may be enough to earn him extra snaps during the preseason.

Expect to see Dalena and other Chiefs rookies in action when Kansas City faces off against Arizona this weekend.
