Jermaine Burton is changing his actions in more ways than one this offseason. Teammates have noted his strong attention to detail, all while the second-year wide receiver appeared at mandatory minicamp with a fresh, short haircut.
"I just knew it was time for a fresh start for me," Burton said about the move. "Feels a little cold, sometimes feel a little bit more wind up there."
Burton declared it's the shortest his hair has been since high school, maybe sparking a return to some of his electric moments from those years and college outings.
Joe Burrow and others have praised Burton for how he's changed so far following a rookie season filled with speed bumps for any early success. There aren't a ton of high-end reps available in arguably the best passing offense in the NFL, but Burton is ready to keep working and let that show why he should get additional opportunities for big moments.
"Getting a closer relationship with my teammates," Burton said about one of his focuses this offseason. "Getting to know a lot of guys more than I did last year. More comfortable going to war with guys you know that you have a better understanding with. You know their why, and you know why they do it. So I don't know. I think every day has just been a great day."
Burton had four catches for 107 yards across 131 offensive snaps last season.
