Titans disrespect takes center stage in ESPN's latest power rankings update

The Tennessee Titans believed they improved throughout the 2025 NFL Draft. General manager Mike Borgonzi altered the trajectory of the franchise by selecting quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick.

Tennessee Titans GM Eyes Specific Trait in Draft Picks

All in all, the Titans made nine total selections during the draft. They reshuffled the offense by not only selecting Ward, but by adding three pass catchers in the fourth round, via wide receivers Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor, and tight end Gunnar Helm. The hope is that the 2025 draft sets a foundation for future success after the Titans endured a 3-14 campaign in 2024.

ESPN doesn't necessarily believe the Titans improved during the 2025 NFL Draft. Having reshuffled their NFL power rankings now that the three-day event is in our rearview mirror, the Titans stayed put at No. 31, the second-worst spot in the league.

Despite remaining low on the Titans' outlook, ESPN labeled the offensive line as the most improved position on Tennessee's roster.

"Few positions got as much attention as the offensive line this offseason," Turron Davenport wrote. "The Titans signed free agent Dan Moore Jr. to play left tackle, which allows 2024 first-round pick JC Latham to move from the left side to right tackle. It's hard to imagine Latham not doing better than the 29 sacks allowed by the group of right tackles last season. Tennessee also signed Kevin Zeitler in free agency to upgrade the right guard spot. The key to it all will be center Lloyd Cushenberry III, who should return from a torn Achilles suffered in November. Cushenberry is optimistic about returning during training camp."

Davenport is correct that the Titans invested assets in their offensive line this offseason. The goal was to upgrade the protection in anticipation of Ward's arrival at quarterback. The Titans have done that, on paper at least, via the signings of Moore Jr. and Zeitler.

The biggest concerns on the Titans' roster appear at wide receiver and EDGE. Will veteran additions like Tyler Lockett and Dre'Mont Jones serve as temporary solutions, buying Borgonzi time to find long-term impact players at those premium positions?

Even after drafting Ward at No. 1 overall, ESPN doesn't appear to possess much faith in the Titans improving in 2025.
