Titans Fans See Unexpected Talent of 4th-Year Tight End

Anew series on social media has given fans an access to see a different side of Tennessee Titans players. In the latest installment of their “Day in the Life” series, Chig Okonkwo was featured. The 2022 fourth round pick finished the last two seasons with 50+ receptions as he’ll have a new quarterback for the 2025 season. With Cam Ward leading the charge, the sky is the limit for the 25-year-old tight end.

The Titans may have finished last in the AFC South for the past two seasons, but things are on the rise. Okonkwo is a key offensive player that is one of many weapons for the No. 1 overall pick. Tennessee is able to move on from Will Levis, who won them just three games last season.

A Day in the Life With Chig Okonkwo

While the video was just over two minutes, Titans fans were able to learn a lot about Okonkwo in that span. His morning is relatively straight forward, as he made sure to mention that he greets every person in the morning. From players to coaches to members of the training staff, Okonkwo was seen going around the locker room shaking hands.

Even though he’s entering his fourth year in the league, it’s great to see Okonkwo still has that hunger and desire to get better. His workout routine included jump ropes and weights, with the Maryland graduate pointing out how important hydration is.

His most shocking talent is yet to come, but his obsession with the coconut hydrate in the Titans locker room is a bold choice. Okonkwo focused on that drink in particular, one that is part of his everyday routine.

Self-Proclaimed ‘Best Ping-Ponger in the World’

What Titans fans may not realize is Okonkwo’s obsession with ping-pong. The 6-foot-3, 238-pound player was quick to bring up table tennis, as he’s seemingly constantly playing during his down time.

“Then we gotta get on the table. This is where I really live. I live on this table,” Okonkwo said. “In between meetings, after meetings, after practice, it don’t matter. I’m on that ping pong table and I’m the best at that.”

After a short break, Okonkwo was right back where he left off, “Yeah, we back on that table. Then I’m going crazy, talk to him every time, I gotta let him know who I am. The best ping ponger in the world. You see what I’m doing to him, he just can’t stop me. It’s too easy.”

No matter who stepped in his way, the No. 143 overall pick stood his ground. It’s a unique sport that doesn’t get too much attention, but it’s in the Olympics, after all.

Okonkwo’s 2025 Preview

Entering his fourth year in the league, the tight end will have yet another quarterback to try and find chemistry with. Ryan Tannehill was the man in 2022 and parts of 2023, with Levis taking over at that point. Mason Rudolph had a stint as the team’s leader last season as well, guiding the team to two of their three wins.

While he didn’t crack ESPN’s list of Top 10 tight ends, Ward’s rookie season could change that. The Titans have done a lot of work to improve this team on both ends of the football, as it’s seemingly impossible to perform worse than they did last season.
