The constant reminders make it worse.
The Will Levis era didn't work out for the Tennessee Titans and normally that'd be painful enough. For any Titans fans tuning into the NFL playoffs this weekend, however, they've probably seen Levis in his mayonnaise commercials a handful of times, ramping up the pain level.
Levis signed a deal with Hellman's last summer in a move that was quite comical at the time but now Titans fans wish they didn't have to be reminded of the quarterback who didn't live up to the bill. With the commercial airing multiple times, Titans fans didn't get their wish of not having to think about Levis this offseason.
Titans fans aren't loving the Will Levis reminders while they watch the playoffs
The Titans spent their early second-round pick on Levis in the 2023 draft and it did not go according to plan. The team moved on from Ryan Tannehill last offseason hoping that Levis would be the quarterback of the future in Nashville. While there were glimpses of potential from the mayo-obsessed signal-caller, it wasn't meant to be.
Levis threw for 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 12 starts and did not look like he was ready to be a long-term starting quarterback in the NFL. With the Titans owning the top pick in this year's draft, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that Tennessee will be looking for another quarterback and the Levis era will be over before it ever really began.
That being said, it's not fun having to see commercials with Levis in them and wondering what could have been. He's clearly got a fun personality and it's hard not to fault the guy for signing a deal with a company and trying to make extra cash on the side.
While Levis graces television screens to discuss how much he loves mayonnaise, Titans fans just want to watch football and forget that the 2024 NFL season ever happened. Is that so much to ask?
