Would Myles Garrett welcome a trade to the Tennessee Titans?
It appears as if Myles Garrett isn't too interested in becoming a member of the Tennessee Titans.
In case you missed it -- earlier this week, Cleveland Browns star pass rusher and last season's NFL Defensive Player of The Year, Myles Garrett officially requested a trade from the Browns, citing not wanting to be part of a full rebuild during his prime years as the reason for his request.
"As a kid dreaming of the NFL, all I focused on was the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl -- and that goal fuels me today more than ever. My love for the community of northeast Ohio and the incredible fanbase of the Cleveland Browns has made this one of the toughest decisions of my life. These past eight years have shaped me into the man that I am today. While I've loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won't allow me to be complacent. The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl. With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns."
With rumors swirling on where Garrett's next destination will be, it appears as if we can certainly rule one team out of the sweepstakes.
According to Titans media member 'Mr. Titan,' when speaking with Garrett, it appears that the perennial All-Pro defender has no interest in being traded to Tennessee.
"For what? Ya'll haven't built anything...for that I'll stay where I'm at," Garrett told 'Mr. Titan.'
Garrett signed a five-year, $120 million extension with the Browns in the summer of 2020. Any team acquiring Garrett will owe the 2017 first overall pick $19.7 million next season and $20.3 in 2026 before he becomes an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2027.
