Although the Chiefs are sporting an 11-1 record and are on pace to secure the top seed in the AFC heading into the playoffs, Kansas City hasn’t won these games easily, as there have been many close calls over the course of the season.
The Chiefs have won two games this season by more than a touchdown, with the rest extremely close and most coming down to the wire, with the team needing some late-game heroics or things to go their way in order to come out on top.
Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady recently talked about the Chiefs’ season and how it is similar to some that he played during his career.
“It’s a lot like the teams that I played for at the Patriots. If you were gonna beat us, you had to beat us. We weren’t gonna beat ourselves,” Brady said on “The Herd.”
Even though the Chiefs have been as resilient as any team in the league this season, it remains to be seen whether they can continue to win in this fashion come playoff time, when the competition gets tougher week to week.
Only time will tell if this squad has what it takes to pull off the three-peat, but until they lose in the playoffs, it is almost impossible to count them out.
