Travis Hunter Fuels Draft Speculation With Comments About Rookie QB

One player that they could be interested in drafting is Heisman candidate and two-way Colorado star Travis Hunter.

While on a recent livestream, Hunter read a message from a fan about the idea of playing for the Patriots.

“‘Trav and Drake Maye?’ That would be tough,” Hunter said.

New England will be looking to continue the rebuild next offseason after they seemingly found their quarterback of the foreseeable future this year in Drake Maye.

The former No. 3 overall pick has had some growing pains as a rookie signal-caller, but he has completed 67.2% of his passes and has posted a passer of 87.0 so far.

However, he could use some more talent alongside him in the offensive huddle and it doesn’t get much more talented than Hunter.

Hunter has demonstrated the ability to be elite on both sides of the ball throughout his career.

As a wide receiver this season, he has caught 92 passes for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns.

As a cornerback this season, he has recorded four interceptions and 11 pass deflections.

Much like the great Charles Woodson, Hunter is one of the best two-way college players of all time.
