Travis Kelce Drawing Taylor Swift Boundary for 2025 Chiefs Season

It’s been a turbulent two months for Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce following a 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9.

Kelce and girlfriend Taylor Swift left town pretty quickly to decompress and enjoy a private vacation together outside of the country. The couple was advised by their inner circles to lay low for a while and chill on the public outings following the backlash they both received after the Super Bowl because of perceived overexposure to fans during the season.

Once they returned stateside, Kelce announced his intention to push off retirement and return for at least one more NFL season in 2025 — a move that was mostly perceived as positive in NFL circles.

But things seemed to hit the fan for Kelce on Wednesday after Us Weekly published a report from a source essentially suggesting that the Pro Bowler blamed his poor 2024 season on all of the attention he was getting because of Swift’s fame.

“He was working too much last year, and he didn’t play as well as he wanted,” the source stated. “He wants to have a good season and not have the focus be on his relationship with Taylor.”

Quite a bit of social media backlash has come Kelce’s way since that report came out, and now according to a new report from the Daily Mail, it appears the All-Pro pass-catcher wants to make sure the same thing doesn’t happen next year, which is why it sounds like Kelce will reportedly limit the public exposure he and Swift get together during the football season.

“[Swift and Kelce] don't have to be the center of attention anymore and are going to often not be seen out and about as much as they have been,” a source told the Daily Mail. “Him and Taylor are going great, his outside football ventures are amazing. His on-field play needs to improve, and he knows that, especially since he is on his last contracted season and is heavily leaning towards retirement after this season.

“He wants to be the reason that the Chiefs return to the Super Bowl and hopefully win it again. If this ends up being his last season, as he is gearing towards, he wants to go all in, and Taylor is all about it.”

If the Daily Mail report is true, one has to wonder how Kelce’s decision will affect Swift’s attendance at his games.

Page Six reported last month that Swift “plans to make it to as many games as possible” next season with it likely being Kelce’s final year, but if he is trying to cut down on the attention around his relationship, it’s at least possible that Swift may sit out a few games to help facilitate his request.
