Travis Kelce Makes 'Confident' Vow on Chiefs-Bills Playoff Rematch

Yet again, the Buffalo Bills toppled the Chiefs in a much-anticipated regular-season matchup, with quarterback Josh Allen making several clutch plays--including a 26-yard fourth-quarter touchdown run on a fourth-and-2 play--to secure the win and end Kansas City's undefeated run.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (87) high-fives teammates during the NFL Week 11 matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, November 17, 2024 in Buffalo, NY.

Three days later, Chiefs star Travis Kelce, who had just two catches for eight yards in the 30-21 loss, was still licking his wounds, pointing out that the Bills were better than the Chiefs from start to finish and won almost every individual matchup.

It's the fourth straight year that Buffalo (9-2) and Allen have bested the Chiefs (9-1) in the regular season. But, of course, the Bills have yet to take down the Chiefs when it matters most--in the playoffs.

And if the two teams meet again in the postseason--which seems almost preordained at this point--Kelce is promising that the mental mistakes and letdowns we saw on the Week 11 loss will not repeat themslves.

Speaking on his 'New Heights" podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce explained that losing to the Bills sparked the Chiefs.

"We have a lot of really close football games against the Buffalo Bills and we love (expletive) playing against them beause they're one of the best teams in the league,' Kelce said. "I get fired up playing against the best teams in the National Football League and I was fired up for this one. And I didn't play my best.

"It made me go right back into work on Monday after the game and get after it, find a way to make (expletive) right."

Should the teams meet again in January, Kelce promised that the Chiefs will, indeed, make (expletive) right.

"I think this is something you won't see out of us in the future," he said. "I think we're very confident we will get the things fixed. We have all the talent we need to go and win another Super Bowl. I have been on Super Bowl-winning teams, we have enough talent to (expletive) make a run at this thing."
