Travis Kelce Reveals Key To Chiefs Playing Best Football

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce knows the importance of building good team chemistry as the defending Super Bowl champs aim for yet another title.

The 2024 version of the Kansas City Chiefs has been a puzzling study for various reasons.

Perhaps the biggest is that Patrick Mahomes and the offense haven't been the swashbuckling unit we have come to know since he became a starter.

Only scoring 30 points just once, the Chiefs have the 11th-ranked scoring offense in football (24.1 points per game), but they have been well propped up by the league's No. 1 scoring defense, with Steve Spagunolo's unit only allowing 18 points per game.

But what has made this journey so good for Travis Kelce is the chemistry that has been built within the team after stacking wins despite not playing well.

“It's fun building the chemistry of a team,” Kelce said. “I can look back on a lot of the teams that we had success on, and those were the most fun teams to be on. You could feel it in the building, and right now, it's such a blast coming in and going to work with the guys that we have.

"It's more unique and more different than any year I've ever been a part of because of the way we've won and how we've had to keep focusing on getting better, knowing we were coming away with wins. So the chemistry is at an all-time high right now, and I'm excited that we found a way to get the number one seed, and we're going in the playoffs playing our best football.”

The Chiefs haven't been the finished product we have seen them be in previous years, but over the last few weeks, the sleeping giant appears to be rising from its slumber, as evidenced by the 29-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium.

Kansas City has a 15-1 record, has again won the division, has clinched the No. 1 seed, and has home advantage throughout the playoffs, and it has been done the hard way, too.

But now, with the team finally clicking, they get a chance to rest up before attacking the playoffs with both barrels and the chemistry built throughout this trying season might just be key in the Chiefs making history in 2024.
