The "Monday Night Football" showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers was a thrilling one.
The Chiefs escaped with a 30-24 win in overtime as Kareem Hunt scored the game-winning touchdown. Chiefs fans were concerned when Patrick Mahomes left the field with an injury, although the superstar quarterback was able to return and finish the game.
On Monday night, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was Mahomes' go-to target. Kelce caught 14 passes for 100 yards on 16 targets, although he did have a fumble in the first half.
After the game, Kelce did an interview with Scott Van Pelt and the tight end had a strong message.
"Chiefs Kingdom, just stick with us on offense, baby."
The "kingdom" Kelce is referring to is Chiefs Kingdom, and the fans showed out once again as the team remains undefeated.
The Buccaneers took a 17-10 lead into the fourth quarter, but the Chiefs scored two touchdowns and went into overtime with the score tied at 24.
In overtime, Kelce caught three passes on the game-winning drive, including a four-yard reception that gave the Chiefs the ball inside the Buccaneers' 5-yard line.
The Chiefs offense has not been the juggernaut fans are used to seeing. Moreover, this was the first game in which Kansas City scored 30 or more all year long.
Nonetheless, the Chiefs are 8-0 and have a home game against the Denver Broncos next weekend as they try and win the Super Bowl again.
