Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs had a great way of smoothing things over with a reporter on Wednesday after they had a tense exchange on Sunday night.
Diggs smoothed things over with WFAA’s Mike Leslie after a tense confrontation following the Cowboys’ 30-24 loss to the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. Diggs took offense when Leslie asked about a lack of effort on one play.
On Wednesday, however, the two made up. Leslie shared on X that Diggs had apologized for the hallway exchange, and Leslie had apologized for his misreading of the play. Diggs explained that he had actually been slow-playing a potential cutback from George Kittle, but that emotions had gotten the best of him in the moment.
Diggs capped things off by gifting Leslie a can of Dee’s Nuts, a nod to his parting shot at Leslie.
Cowboys PR informed me that the video violated their social media policy, so here’s some pictures instead. pic.twitter.com/9N7Wxs4lvh

Credit to Trevon Diggs today. Took questions, explained some of the nuances and challenges of the defense this year which I’ll get into on NFL Network tonight but more importantly he apologized to Mike Leslie for the exchange admitting he got caught up in the emotions of wanting… pic.twitter.com/izrX3veZpm

Kudos to Diggs for dealing with this in a funny way. His emotional reaction was understandable, as the Cowboys lost a tough game on Sunday. Beefing with media members has become a bit too common this year, and it is probably a waste of time with the team sitting at 3-4.
