Treylon Burks was recently released by the Tennessee Titans after another injury, but the young receiver has a surprising person in his corner.

Treylon Burks’ NFL career recently took the most unfortunate turn. Ahead of a make-or-break season, the wide receiver fractured his collarbone after making an impressive catch during a Tennessee Titans practice. Two days after the injury, the Titans waived the receiver, and he reverted back to IR after going unclaimed.

While it was a brutal development for Burks, it was understandable why Tennessee decided to let him go. In three years with the team, the wideout was limited to 27 total games, landing on injured reserve in two of his first three seasons. With the fractured collarbone prematurely ending his fourth season as well, the Titans didn’t have much of a choice.

Still, Burks’ career taking this unfortunate turn left a lot of people feeling sad, including Philadelphia Eagles receiver A.J. Brown. On a recent episode of Pardon My Take, Brown admitted he was sad for Burks. He also admitted that he’s spoken with Burks numerous times, and is a fan of the person he is. That made it especially tough for him to watch how his career has unfolded so far.

A.J. Brown explains how sad he is for Treylon Burks

"I am a little sad for Treylon Burks. I wish he could get healthy, because he is a good kid. I talk to him numerous times; I've got his number. And it sucks to see it go down like that."

Brown and Burks will forever be linked because of the draft-day trade where the Titans sent Brown to Philadelphia for a first and third-round pick. With the first-round pick being used to select Burks, the young receiver was immediately viewed as Brown’s replacement, as the trade was heavily criticized.

Brown went on to catch 261 passes for 4,031 yards and 25 touchdowns in Philly, helping them win a Super Bowl. Burks, on the other hand, only contributed 53 receptions for 699 yards and one touchdown to Tennessee before being waived. Hopefully, Burks will be able to get healthy and eventually bounce back.
