Warning: SPOILERS ahead for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2, episode 6!The first trailer for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 has been released, revealing Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) arriving in Spain as their journey home continues. Daryl Dixon season 2 ended with the main duo defending Ash (Manish Dayal) and Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) as they escape to America in the latter's plane. While the duo head into the Chunnel for England, the psychedelic effects of bat guano lead to conflict, Daryl killing their guides and Codron (Romain Levi) running off. The pair are now traveling to England on their own.
Now, AMC (via The Walking Dead) has released the first teaser trailer for Daryl Dixon season 3, showing Daryl and Carol finding Stephen Merchant's unnamed character in England. The pair are then seen on a sailboat, before being shown in various locations in Spain. This includes Daryl walking through a small village, and Carol looking worriedly at people burning a straw figure of some kind.
Daryl is then seen riding his motorcycle through a desert alone, followed by flashes of zombies, a new character, and Daryl aiming a gun. The trailer ends with the main duo talking about how they almost thought their journey had come to an untimely end, hinting at their lives being in more danger than ever before this coming season. What Daryl Dixon's Newest Trailer Means For Season 3
The Pair Won't Be Staying In England For Long
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 was confirmed to be taking place in Spain before season 2 even aired, making the location not much of a surprise. However, it's still unclear how the main duo's journey to England will result in this detour, given their prioritization now of getting back to America. Since Merchant's character appears to be one of the first people they meet, perhaps he gets involved in their retrieval of a sailboat, with unknown factors forcing them back to mainland Europe.
The voiceover in the trailer also implies the duo might be apart for much of their journey, especially since they're both seen alone in Spain outside the very last scene of the trailer. It's possible they do end up using a sailboat, attempting to get back to America, only for something to strand and separate them. However, no concrete answers are provided about them, nor about Daryl Dixon season 2 characters like Codron (Romain Levi), whose fate remains unclear after he chased after a Walker in the Chunnel.
Our Take On Daryl Dixon Season 3's First Trailer
A New Adventure Means Plenty Of Surprises
Not much is known about what Daryl and Carol's adventure in Spain will bring, but season 3's new trailer sheds light on just how massive their journey is going to be. Given the sprawling landscapes and new characters getting introduced, it appears Daryl Dixon will have a whole new, engaging story on its hands as the main duo continue their journey to America. With a new goal of reuniting with Laurent now on the horizon, it seems like season 3 will be building on the story in France to deliver a surprising continuation.
