Now, AMC (via WotNot) has released a new trailer for The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2, episode 6, showing Negan confronting the Coat after the Dama's death. The trailer also sees Bruegel trying to cut a deal with Perlie, saying he can give New Babylon access to the Burazi's methane. Maggie (Lauren Cohan) doesn't trust him, but it seems whatever happens will bring her face-to-face with Negan once more. The trailer ends showing a feral bear attacking her and Hershel while they're seemingly still in Central Park.

What The Walking Dead: Dead City's New Trailer Means For Season 2, Episode 6

The Conflict For Manhattan Is Becoming Even More Complex

Multiple major characters in Dead City died in season 2, episode 5, including New Babylon's de facto leader, Lucia (Dascha Polanco), Foragers leader Roksana (Pooya Mohseni), and the Dama. The remaining cast also went through a multitude of major changes, such as Hershel (Logan Kim) realizing the error of his ways for sending a smoke signal to the Burazi, and Ginny (Mahina Napoleon) having a major injury. With the Manhattan group without a leader and Bruegel seemingly teaming up with Perlie, alliances are forming that will determine the long-term future of the island.

Maggie and Negan seeing each other again seems like it'll be tinged with renewed confrontation, not only because of the end of Dead City season 1, but also because they're still on opposite sides of a massive war. Negan will be dealing with his own issues now that the Dama is dead, especially since it's unclear what this means for when his wife and son arrive in New York City. His current alliance with the Croat means the pair will probably stay on good terms, although it all depends on if another untoward event causes a major falling out.

Our Take On Dead City Season 2, Episode 6's Trailer

Will Perlie Really Trust Bruegel To Help Him?

Bruegel clearly has ulterior motives for wanting to join forces with New Babylon, not trusting the Croat or Negan with uniting Manhattan's groups. Whether Perlie will trust his power play remains unclear, but, based on Maggie's statement, it seems she's getting fed up being in the middle of two antagonistic groups vying for power on the island. With three episodes left, The Walking Dead: Dead City has plenty of time to reveal how these allegiances shape the series' future, and what they mean for major characters going forward.
