Now, AMC (via WotNot) has released a new trailer for Dead City season 2, episode 8, which sees the Dama speaking to Maggie after she wakes up. It appears her and Hershel (Logan Kim) have a long-term plan, but that Maggie will end up in the church when Bruegel (Kim Coates) and Perlie (Gaius Charles) arrive to confront Negan. All out war breaks out inside, with Maggie slicing people's necks open, Negan fighting, and Bruegel using a flamethrower. The final scene shows Maggie pick up a bloodied Lucille, anger in her eyes.

What The Walking Dead: Dead City's New Trailer Means For The Season Finale

Season 2's Ending Promises Massive Consequences

With the Dama revealed to be alive, it seems whatever's been set in motion by her faking her death could be part of a grand plan. What this means as Negan clashes with Bruegel remains unclear, especially since multiple characters in Dead City are still vying for the methane being produced in the church. As for the former antagonist, he's willing to do whatever it takes to save Ginny, with the trailer hinting he'll be harnessing some of his old ways in order to win.

What this means for Maggie is unclear, but she'll somehow get her hands on Lucille. She's clearly angry enough that she's going to use it on someone, though who becomes the target for her ire remains up in the air. Her tension with Negan still exists, but it's possible that, seeing him protect Ginny, she'll understand he's just trying to make sure she's safe, no matter what it costs. Soldiers of the New Babylon Federation also seem to be marching under Perlie, though how central to the narrative they really are remains unclear.

The Croat is conspicuously absent from The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2, episode 8 trailer, indicating he might not appear after going off on his own.

Our Take On Dead City's Season 2 Finale Trailer

Will Maggie & Negan Make It Out Alive?

With the church bringing everyone together as major conflicts escalate, it's unclear if both Maggie and Negan are going to make it out alive. Negan's approach to saving Ginny puts him in harm's way, while Hershel's friendship with the Dama could put Maggie in danger. No matter what happens to the pair as every group finally converges in The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 finale, it will likely bring many of the smaller stories at play to a satisfying, though intense, conclusion.
