TWD Dead City Season 2 Trailer: Maggie & Negan Fight On Opposite Sides Of A War For Manhattan

Now, AMC (via WotNot) has released a new trailer for The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2, teasing what to expect in the episodes ahead. The trailer shows Maggie and Perlie (Gaius Charles) arriving in Manhattan, as Negan and the Croat (Željko Ivanek) discuss how to handle the situation. As the Dama tries building her army, Bruegel (Kim Coates) is teased to have plans of his own. A massive army of New Babylon soldiers are then seen marching in the streets of New York City.

Additional highlights include Maggie staging a robbery of the Dama's methane supply, as well as confronting the Croat and slicing two people's throats open. Negan, on the other hand, leads a group firing barrels of gasoline at an oncoming ship, while another scene teases the core duo meeting face-to-face in the middle of the conflict. What Dead City Season 2's New Trailer Says About The Upcoming Episodes

Maggie & Negan's War Is Far From Simple

The new trailer indicates that Maggie and Negan might still get into conflict, despite Dead City season 1 ending with her positing the idea of saving him. It signals that, before the pair meet up again, some major events might play out within the two groups that drive an even deeper schism between them. At the same time, though, both recognize the antagonistic elements of their respective groups, with the Dama trying to intimidate Manhattan's groups to side with her, and New Babylon killing those who try to escape conscription.

Given how much the series has emphasized both sides have malicious intentions, it seems like Maggie and Negan meeting face-to-face once more will be an important way to offer deeper perspective on their conflict. While the other characters in Dead City in both groups are focusing on methane, the protagonists' deeper connection spanning over a decade adds a new layer to what's going on. Whether they can put aside their differences and face the dangers of the big city together, though, remains to be seen.

Our Take On Dead City Season 2's Newest Trailer

New York City Will Never Be The Same

Since New Babylon is encroaching on Manhattan with an army, the only way its many groups are going to survive is by banding together under Negan and the Dama's banner. However, Bruegel seems to have plans of his own, all while Maggie takes on an important role, having proven herself an asset to the Federation in the season premiere. With seven episodes left for the pair's groups to engage in war, it remains to be seen how the larger conflict of The Walking Dead: Dead City meshes with their inevitable reunion.
