The Tennessee Titans are headed to South Beach for a date with the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football. The Titans are chasing their first win of the 2024 season.
Meanwhile, two Titans players are chasing NFL history and looking to join some elite company during the game.
Outside linebacker Harold Landry III and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins are both within reach of some impressive career milestones.
Landry climbing franchise ranks
Landry leads the teams with three sacks this season. He is also the active leader in career sacks (44.5). By recording a sack on Monday Night Football, Landry will break his tie for 3rd place with Derrick Morgan for most sacks in the Titans era (1999 to 2024).
A sack on Monday would also make Landry the franchise’s third player ever to reach double digits in sacks in primetime games, joining Ray Childress (15.5) and William Fuller (15.5). Landry, who thrives under the lights, currently has 9.5.
Hopkins can join elite company
Another player chasing a milestone is veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins is five catches away from passing Art Monk for 20th all-time in career receptions.
With 55 more receiving yards and one touchdown, Hopkins can also join an elite group and become just the 14th player ever to record 900 receptions, 12,500 receiving yards and 80 receiving touchdowns.
Nine of the 13 to do it before him have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Jerry Rice, Larry Fitzgerald, Marvin Harrison, Terrell Owens, and Randy Moss are some of the players in that group.
