Rookie jersey numbers are always an intriguing portion of this time of the NFL offseason. For the New Orleans Saints, their new rookie quarterback will wear a number that is held fairly closely in the regards of his new fan base.
Tyler Shough accepts Thomas Morstead's offer for jersey number
The Saints have released rookie jersey numbers for their 2025 NFL Draft class. Quarterback Tyler Shough will wear number six. Former Saints punter Thomas Morstead gave him the seal of approval to wear his former number on social media recently.
Morstead was a beloved piece of the organization during his time with the Saints and became one of the most consistent punters in all of the NFL throughout his playing career. He will always be remembered for his time in black and gold.
Shough was deciding between six and eighteen as his number, according to comments he made last week. Ultimately, he's rolling with the single digit option, and it should be a good look for him.

Banks is one that stands out the most here.
Ryan Ramczyk wore 71 most recently for New Orleans. He retired earlier this offseason. Banks will hope to live up to the ceiling of play that Ramczyk gave the Saints after being selected in the 2017 NFL Draft by New Orleans.
As for Shough, he has made his first notable NFL decision. Now, he will get to work to try to win the starting QB job, beginning in rookie minicamp. Let's see how that unfolds as well.
