Week 6 Injury Report: Which Saints Stars Are On the List?

New Orleans Saints fans haven’t seen a promising injury report once this season, and unfortunately, that’s not changing in Week 6. The injury report is still long, and filled with key starters and important depth players.

With two practices now complete, it’s clear the Week 6 game between New Orleans and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be another tough one for the Saints. However, the NFL isn’t the place for executes; New Orleans has to find a way to win.

The biggest takeaway from the updated injury report is all of the key players who still aren’t on the practice field. Guys like Derek Carr and Will Harris have week-to-week injuries, so their absences were expected. Taysom Hill, Lucas Patrick, Cesar Ruiz, and Pete Werner were all still absent, and that’s concerning for New Orleans.

These are starters who play key positions. New Orleans has already dropped three games in a row, and it could be even more if the team has to keep relying on it’s reserves.

Beyond the players who didn’t practice, the players who were on the field are still giving fans reasons to be concerned. Rashid Shaheed, who’s dealing with a hip injury didn’t practice on Wednesday, and had a limited practice on Thursday. He’s moving in the right direction, but he’s also dealing with an issue that could impact his performance.

The same goes for Alvin Kamara, who has been a staple on the injury report. The veteran running back has dealt with injured ribs, and injuries to his hip and hand this season. He’s committed to playing through his various injuries, not missing a game yet, but you have to wonder how much is too much.

The Saints will have another practice on Friday, then guys will receive a designation for Sunday’s game.
