Vikings Betting on Patience With Justin Jefferson's Hamstring

Anytime a player suffers a soft tissue injury, it can be a lingering injury for them into the season for an extended period.

For Justin Jefferson, he may not need the work in the preseason, but it would be nice for him to work his hamstring in a game setting before Week 1. You may be thinking it isn't worth the risk, but we have seen plenty of players who have not done that after suffering an issue like this in training camp, and they left spending significant time during the season working it out. Of course, an All-Pro like Jefferson is a natural talent and can overcome a lot, but soft tissue injuries get you no matter who you are.

That being said, that is just what we think. When it comes time to answer the question of when we will see Justin Jefferson, the answer is going to be Week 1.

The team is all about playing the long game, and they do not want a setback. While he is out in camp, it isn't all bad for the offense as it allows for J.J. McCarthy to build his connection with the likes of Jordan Addison, Rondale Moore, and company.

Jefferson is going to be okay, so will the Vikings offense, but his coming back sooner rather than later may be the right play in the long haul.
