The Vikings move to 8-2 on the season while the Titans drop to 2-8.
The Minnesota Vikings may not put together the prettiest wins but they're getting the job done.
On Sunday, the team started strong and held off the Tennessee Titans in a 23-13 win, Minnesota's third consecutive victory. The Vikings move to 8-2 on the season while the Titans drop to 2-8.
A week after going 0-for-5 in the red zone, the Vikings were 2-for-2 in Tennessee.
Minnesota's offense did turn the ball over once but only once and was able to cash in on its opportunities better than in recent weeks, at least in the first half. Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison were both more involved, with Jefferson officially setting another NFL record, and Sam Darnold completed 20-of-32 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns while running in another one.
Defensively, the Vikings gave up some chunk plays in the second half, including a 98-yard bomb from Will Levis to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, but the unit was otherwise strong once again.
The Titans totaled just three scoring drives on 11 possessions, one of which started near midfield, while the Vikings racked up five sacks, 10 tackles for loss and an interception.
There is still plenty of room to improve for the Vikings. As mentioned, the Titans had some explosive plays against Minnesota's defense in the second half; the Vikings struggled to run the ball, totaling just 82 yards on 33 carries and just 2 yards per carry on 17 runs in the second half; and several opportunities were still missed, including what would've been a put-away touchdown to Jalen Nailor in the fourth quarter.
Minnesota will head to Chicago next weekend for a divisional battle with the Bears.
