Vikings make big trade for former second-round pick

The 5-2 Minnesota Vikings have managed to address one of their biggest areas of weakness.

3 Teams That Should Trade For Cam Robinson

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Tuesday that the Vikings are trading for veteran left tackle Cam Robinson of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Rapoport adds that the Vikings are sending a conditional 2026 fifth-round pick (that can become a fourth based on playing time) to the Jaguars in exchange for Robinson and a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick (that can go away based on playing time).

Robinson, 29, is an eight-year NFL veteran who had spent his entire career up to this point with the Jags. A second-round pick in 2017 (No. 34 overall), Robinson recovered from a 2018 ACL tear to become one of Jacksonville’s steadiest offensive players. Standing 6-foot-6, Robinson made 91 starts in total for the Jags and was twice franchise-tagged by the team before getting a three-year, $54 million extension prior to the 2022 season.

The former Alabama star Robinson is now in the final year of that contract and is a fantastic get for the Vikings, especially with the big injury they just suffered to their offensive line. In a very tough NFC North division this year, Minnesota should get an immediate contribution from Robinson, who has been producing blocking highlights ever since his college days.
