Vikings' Raucous Locker Room Celebration for Sam Darnold Grabs Attention

With a 2-0 sweep this season over their NFC North rivals, the Minnesota Vikings celebrated in a big way in their locker room with quarterback Sam Darnold.

All his teammates waited for Darnold to enter the locker room after the Vikings' 27-25 win in Week 17 and doused the 27-year-old signal-caller with water.

Darnold was propped up on his teammates' shoulders, and the Vikings laughed and sang in unison as the team celebrated. The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder let out a big yell, wiped water away from his face and hair and flexed his arms from side to side as teammates slapped his chest while parading Darnold around the locker room.

Fans responded very positively to the post on social media, with over 600,000 views, 11,000 likes and 2,200 reposts.

"EXTEND HIM," said one fan, wanting the Vikings to give Darnold a new contract.

"Never in a million years did I think Sam Darnold would make me tear up as the Vikings qb 🥲," replied another.

"Pulling for you guys in the post season," read another fan.

"I'm not crying... you're crying! 🥲," said one fan.

"Unbelievable journey for Darnold," noted a post.

"Crazy to think dude was almost out or the league at one point… now he’s a top 5 qb on a potential top seed," read one reply.

The Vikings will finish the regular season with a big game on January 5 against the Detroit Lions, the No. 1 NFC seed.
