Vikings Report breaks down Walter Rouse

Making our way through the picks

We continue rolling through the Minnesota Vikings 2024 Draft class on Vikings Report with Drew and Ted, and we’re getting closer to the end of the list. In this episode, we take a look at the first of the Vikings’ two sixth-round selections, Oklahoma offensive tackle Walter Rouse.

Rouse is a bit of an interesting selection, given the way the Vikings’ offensive line depth charts currently look. The Vikings are set at the tackle spots with Brian O’Neill and Christian Darrisaw, and a lot of folks thought that the purple might use the pick they used on Rouse to help them on the interior. Of course, both Darrisaw and O’Neill have dealt with injuries in recent seasons, so depth at the tackle spots couldn’t be completely ignored.

On the other hand, at least one of us thinks that Rouse could be that player that helps out on the inside. He was very good as a tackle with the Sooners (and with Stanford before that), but Rouse’s skills might translate better to the interior at the NFL level.

We hope that you like our breakdown of Walter Rouse on this episode and that you’ll continue to watch our remaining breakdowns as well. We’re also back into going with a movie theme for each episode, though we don’t spend a whole lot of time talking about it. This is a relatively short episode, all things considered.

We welcome your feedback on this show and our other shows, whether it’s here in the comments section or over on the Vikings Report with Drew and Ted YouTube page. We’ll be back next week with a full-on kicker breakdown as we look at the team’s other sixth-round selection, Alabama kicker Will Reichard.
