While Christian Darrisaw's season-ending injury didn't help matters this week, Jordan Addison appeared to add fuel to the fire with a cryptic post on his Instagram story.

Addison posted to his story with a photo of himself during a loss to the Rams on Saturday morning. The post had the caption of "Free 3" which many have implied that he's unhappy with his role in the Vikings offense.

Cryptic posts on social media are a staple for frustrated receivers in the NFL. Stefon Diggs essentially tweeted his way out of Minnesota in 2020 and more recently, Davante Adams tweeted a photo of Edgar Allen Poe when he was on the trading block, assuming a link with the Baltimore Ravens.

A first-round pick by the Vikings in the 2023 draft, Addison caught 70 passes for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns during his rookie season but his success was sandwiched between a pair of off-the-field incidents including a citation for speeding in July 2023 and a DUI arrest this past July which is still pending a court hearing.

Addison's rookie-season success also hasn't carried over to this season. The 22-year-old has dealt with sprains in both ankles and has just 14 catches for 231 yards and a touchdown this season.

While a lack of targets is easier to swallow during a 5-0 start, the past two losses may have struck a nerve for Addison. The assumption is unlikely to go well with the fan base but it may garner attention from the coaching staff as they look to get back in the win column next Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
